hi! welcome to (sub)cultural capital. i’m tasha, a self-identified extremely online individual and someone who cares far too much about “being early” to things (which is kind of what subcultural capital is all about). i spend a lot of time thinking about how culture is changing both online and offline, and the ways in which it shapes our lives, our sense of self, and our happiness. i write about some of that here.

what is (sub)cultural capital?

in the past i’ve written about social media 3.0 and the rise of tiktok, the changing dynamics of fame and celebrity monetization, and consumer tech innovations in sustainability & gaming.

i’m going to continue to explore these topics and might also cover things like:

  • digital (unconscious) bias

  • the religiosity of technology

  • gen-z aesthetic

  • the next frontier of social media

if this is interesting to you, i hope you’ll join me as a part of (sub)cultural capital :)
